The Chilean authorities have recognized our Advanced Membrane Bioreactor with a certification, marking a significant advancement in the efforts to achieve cleaner oceans. This recognition not only confirms the effectiveness of our technology but also the importance of biological treatment methods in protecting the marine environment.

“While traditional wastewater treatments have relied on chemical and physical processes, our biological treatment methods represent an important shift. By emulating nature’s own way of cleaning water, we ensure that the wastewater discharged into the seas is not just cleaned, but cleaned in a way that supports the marine ecosystem”, says Thomas Højbo Hansen, Head of Sales, G&O Bioreactors.

The Chilean fishing industry is known for its rich biodiversity and extensive aquaculture. Clean wastewater is crucial for maintaining the health of local fish farms and the surrounding marine environment.

“Vessel and farm owners in the industry, benefit from the Advanced Bioreactor to play an active role in maintaining the purity of the waters they operate in. It is an investment in their future and the sustainability of the planet.

This certification proves our commitment to environmental protection and our dedication to providing solutions that make a real difference. It is a call to action for the industry: together, we can ensure that the waters essential to us all remain clean for future generations”, Thomas Højbo Hansen finishes.

Where units using MBBR floating biocarriers commonly available on the market risk the discharge of microplastics into the oceans, the G&O unit also retain microplastics due to its high performing ultra filtrating membrane.

This certification comes in addition to DNV, UK MER approval, Transport Canada certifications.

The US Coast Guard approval is upcoming.
